• Visual inspection for cracks, dents, or structural damage
• Alignment check — fork and frame straightness
• General wipe-down to inspect surfaces clearly

2. Cockpit & Steering

• Headset bearing play and smoothness
• Handlebars & stem torqued to spec and aligned
• Grips / bar tape wear and attachment

3. Drivetrain & Shifting

• Chain stretch measured with wear indicator
• Cassette & chainrings checked for shark-toothing
• Derailleurs inspected for alignment and limit screw safety
• Shifting performance and cable movement verified
• Derailleur hanger straightness checked

4. Braking System

• Brake pad thickness and even wear
• Rotors / rims inspected for trueness and heat damage
• Cables / hoses checked for fraying, kinks, or leaks
• Lever feel and engagement point verified

5. Wheels & Tires

• Tires checked for dry rot, tread depth, and embedded debris
• Pressure set to manufacturer-recommended PSI
